Song of Spring

I think the song of Spring 2013 should by ...

"I get knocked down

but I get up again

You're never going to keep me down"

So many false starts, flowers blooming, bulbs growing ... then cold (bitterly cold) air sends them into hibernation, only to keep coming back, keep trying to bloom.

Oh I think we all need that Spring sunshine and warmth now. The beginning of this week was so bitterly cold my left and and jaw ached one night as I had forgotten to wear my hat that afternoon - never again on such a cold day!

But the last couple of days have been warmer, brighter and longer, much much longer now. All the bulbs are back flowering again, gorgeous yellows of daffodils; yellows, pinks and purples of the crocuses everywhere, Camellias in full bloom, Blossom is colouring the skies, yes the flowers are really brightening the world again; and the tree buds are bursting all over with life and green and red. Daisies are thriving in the lawns where people haven't braved the cold to mow the lawns yet!

I'll hold onto this for the next few days, though warmer there is rain due. Ah well not long until Easter and maybe, just maybe that will be beautifully sunny and warm as it has been in recent years. Just maybe x
